Atheist Heratic's Sig

Is this a REAL question?
You can be raised without ANY knowledge of ANY god and understand the difference between right and wrong. Having morals are being able to determine this difference, and trying to live your life based on it.

This is part of evolution.. We ARE animals. WE have pack mentality. If a member of the pack does wrong to other members of the pack, that member will be shunned. Part of living a moral life for ANY person is to gain acceptance from the pack.

You don't have to have a fear of a magical firepit to do right, and you don't have to have the reward at the end of the rainbow to not do wrong.

Oh, and a recent study shows that "Atheist" nations have a MUCH lower crimerate than those with a recognized religion.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." (Washington, D.C., April 1999) [2]

"One of the great achievements of science has been, if not to make it impossible for intelligent people to be religious, then at least to make it possible for them not to be religious. We should not retreat from this accomplishment." (ibid.)
