Where did God come from?

God gave us free-will and Satan chose to be greedy and wanted to take over the throne.

God gives everyone a choice just like he gave Adam and Eve a choice.

Therefore, God casted Satan (who was once an angel) into the Lake of Fire to rule there forever.

Many people ask me: Why would God create people knowing that they would choose hell?

First I ask them if they have children or not.

Most of them say yes.

Then I respond: Why did you have children, knowing that someday they would disobey you?

Love takes risks.

God was willing to take the risk of loss in order to experience the joy of love.

Example

The same is true for every Super Bowl.

Both teams know that one will lose, yet both are willing to play the game despite that risk.

Antichrist.  That answer for both questions is Yes.

Now why did God create satan?

'Satan' means adversary.  Adversary is good for us.  Without having knowledge of pain, then we would not know what is comfort.  This gives us an appreciation for comfort.  Also, adversity makes us stronger.

God is love.  That will be his eternal attribute.  He promises that eventually all these bad things, such as pain, will be discarded when it has served its purpose.  These things help to mature us.  Eventually to those who have a vision, these things are positive.  It works for our benefit.  This is when we truly begin to appreciate how good and bad things work together.

To me, satan is not some super-angel ruling on earth or in some lake of fire where untold millions will fry and not die.

To me, God did not roll the dice to see how many will obey him.  God has all-knowledge.  He knows who will obey and who won't.   Neither did he make us to just punish us.  Punishment has to do with correction.  A loving parent will correct/punish a wayward child for the childs benefit.  He will not throw them in a furnace of fire for eternity because they failed to learn their lesson.

As matt said, we are given a will and choice.  We can choose to acknowledge God and love him back.

anyways, thought I'd sneek in my thoughts.
