Turn on the TV.  Start channel-surfing.  I'd be willing to bet that within the first twenty seconds you'll see some sort of violence, hear some profanity, or happen upon some graphic sex-scene.  Am I right?

When did it become ok for this to be on TV?

What has this done to us as a society?

There is an instrument of the devil
in rooms across the world situated at eye level

it controls your mind and your action
there is no escape from its evil attraction

recruiting mindless followers divison on divison
I watched it unfold, live on televison

Marching on towards final d--nation
Is there any escpae from this evil creation?

haha what does 'disagree' mean, if it doesn't mean 'to think it's wrong'?

I do believe you have strayed from the question.  I never asked if it was wrong to watch TV.  However, I mean to ask, "How has TV, radio, the internet, etc. affected society?"

The problem with TV and movie programs are the people making them and the majority of society. Producers are olny looking at one thing and thats ratings the more edgy a show the higher the ratings which menas money money =D> The writers are supposedly pushing the view "its only art" that line can get me ticked sometimes. And the TV stations wanting to be with the times and keep an audiance it all adds up to $$$$$$.
The last and most important factor is sin

I agree with jesusboy.  All the media cares about is money.  AKA the root of all evil.  Any time you begin to put money above god bad things will happen. period.

Biblical clarification: The LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil (or all sorts of evil, depending on your translation), not money itself (See 1 Tim. 6:10).

Yes FUSSCCJ,  that is true and I stand corrected.  However, that is beside the point.  Love of money, or mammon, is what drives these television producers to disregard God and morality.

If you do not like it....then don't watch it.  Simple really.  And if the producers, etc, do it for the love of money, then....don't watch it (the programs)  But you must realize that money is a necessity to living (in our day and age).  So there should be a careful examination to whether we do it for the "LOVE" of money or for necessity.  But we do not watch our favourite programs for the love of money do we?  We do realize that the advertisements (commercials) are the real bread and water to their programs?  So if we get hooked on a certian series.....then maybe we should not complain about what goes on between?  Just a thought.

f you do not like it....then don't watch it.

that is the same argument abortionists use, and I am still surprised that anyone uses it anymore, it is so flawed.  Obviously, if someone is speaking out against something they have probably already made the personal decision not to do what they are speaking out against.  If Janey thinks abortion is wrong,  then Janey probably wont have one.  If Jimmy doesnt apprieciate  casual sex and bad language on certian television shows, Jimmy probably doesnt watch those shows.  Jimmy knows that these shows are bad for everybody, because the bible tells him.  Therefore Jimmy will try to convice people not to watch these television shows.  Janey will tell people not to have abortions because she knows it is wrong, and bad for everybody, because everybody's creator said it is bad.

So I guess my plans to make a channel composed of nothing but sex and foul language wouldn't fly with you, then, right?

Whats your favourite tv program or series?  What keeps them afloat?

And Vose, there is a flaw in every argument (but again, thats just my opinion) ;-)
