Google Censorship Article

Distressing.  I understand why they would do it.  How much should I/we care?  Stop using Google?

It's a private company. My opinion is they can sell what they want to who they want. I don't think it's cause for concern.

What does concern me is the fact that Yahoo and Microsoft are cooperating with the U.S. government in regards to what sex terms people search for. Since google isn't, I have to remember to search for stuff through google from now on. ;)

I don't use google as a bypass to look at porn, even though I know if i wanted to I could.  It was Christian friend of mine that told me this.  Same friend who taught me about SI Swimsuit edition too.

sounds like your friend may have some unrepentant sin in his life, AH.

Johnny, I don't know what i think about censorship.  I believe that all material which is dangerous and malicious should be kept away from people; but who decides exactly what is dangerous and malicious?  I don't trust any humans to make any absolute judgments of such subjective moral decisions.  Joe Schmo Atheist, who has no standards, will say that if I restrict porn from him that i am making up an arbitrary boundary and that i oppress him by limiting his access to pornography- and what truly scientific, logically airtight argument could i have to support my choice to limit access to something like that?  There is no way to prove beyond a doubt (to anyone who doesn't want to believe) that pornography is dangerous and malicious.  I know that it is, but i cannot necessarily prove that to someone else.  So i guess i would say this:

If i could make perfect moral judgments, i would say that you should choose me to decide what to censor and what not to- but owing to the fact that i cannot make perfect moral judgments, and further that no man (but Jesus of Nazareth) could ever make a perfect moral judgment, i have to say that censorship is bad.  Parents should control their kids as they see fit, which is hopefully in line with God's word, in order to engender the best development in the child, but other than that censorship could become dangerous and thus should not be allowed.
