Let's say an artist makes a painting by throwing paint on a canvas while blindfolded, thus knowing neither what colors he throws or where they are going.  Could this painting be said to be designed?

I suppose that one could liken it to a blind chef making scrambled eggs.  That's what Dawkins would call a real "blind watchmaker".  :-)

By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if some artist has actually done this.

Ah, I knew Dawkins had something about that. I just couldn't remember what...

Hmmmm...

I should try that some time... cooking blindfolded and painting.

Even blindfolded... the meal would be 'something'..errr...perhaps eatable or maybe trashable..nevertheless it would be of my own fun experiment. [biggrin

The blindfold painting would be fun too..but not the cleanup.  Still, it would be of my own making.. perhaps it can be called "art" even.  Now, whether it has any value or not is in the eye of the beholder, but I suppose for me, it would have some value in a personal way.

Some time ago, for the fun of it, I tried to do things with my eyes shut.  Don't try it going to the can for a whiz ;-)

The young daughter of a friend of mine accidentally ran over her sister on their driveway with a bicycle.  When asked "How did this happen?", the girl answered reluctantly "I had my eyes closed."  "Why were your eyes closed?" asked the exhasperated parents.  "I was trying to see what it would be like to ride a bicycle blind."  I'm laughing even as I type :smt005 .

Ooop I'm done now... nope :smt005
