"The 42-year-old English biogerontologist has made his name by claiming that some people alive right now could live for 1,000 years or longer. Maybe much longer. Growing old is not, in his view, an inevitable consequence of the human condition; rather, it is the result of accumulated damage at the cellular and molecular levels that medical advances will soon be able to prevent

I, too, have heard similar thoughts, but from watching these ideas from the "discovery" channel.  LOL.

Interesting that this is not a "fact" yet.  But maybe it supports my worldview too?

So far, no one else has any comments about this, but maybe some are still thinking how to logically respond.

It's interesting (I didn't read the articles you posted, but I've heard theories like this before), but I don't think it really affects anyone's worldview. It supports the Bible's assertions that people used to live nearly 1000 years, and it supports evolution in that living longer, or figuring out how to make us live longer by using our evolved intellect, is an improvement, which we would expect from an evolving species.

Humans are already causing enough irreversible damage to the earth......and considering how many resources one human consumes (particularly greedy Americans) we are already waayyyyy to overpopulated. The last thing we need to do is live for 1000 years.
Why don't we just detonate all the nuclear warheads in the world at the exact same time? Same effect. but over much less time, giving this world a better shot at recovery.

Sounds like some don't portray too much hope for humans.  No human will be lost.

Realist.  You say that we should just let the bombs go.  Within this idea is the recovery of the human race with the right amount of population to make this world a better place?  What if the humans ARE the problem?  Would this not then do away with your argument...Ummm..but wait, this IS your argument...isn't it.   How will the bombs then produce something better afterwards?   You have a faith here...can't quite figure it out..yet.
