I realized today that I've got very little on my forum that says who I am and what I'm about.  There is plenty on the main site (www.sntjohnny.com) but a lot of the ads point only to the forum.  So, in brief,

I went to a Christian grade school and high school, and then on to a Christian university with the intent on being a pastor.  That first year I deeply struggled with my faith.  I ended up basically dumping everything I thought I believed and re-built my worldview from the bottom up.  This was a very intense time in my life, though largely private.  I may be wrong about things, but at least I can generally explain why I have come to the conclusions I have.

Since then, I have devoted myself to trying to reach out both to the hard core skeptics and the seekers in the middle.  I should spend more time equipping the Christian church itself, and that is something I'm working on.  I hope to spare people the agony that I went through.  I don't mean the good part of the agony, but the bad part.  A lot of my problems were not reasonable or rational.  That is to say, my objections to Christianity and religion in general were often silly.  I just didn't know yet that they were.  But some never find out.
