What Came First, the Chicken or the Egg? Or, what came first our faith to believe God or Christ's faith which saves us?
Rom 3:26 toward the display of His righteousness in the current era, for Him to be just and
a Justifier of the one who is out of the faith of Jesus."
I bolded the above part to bring attention to the fact that the one who is of, or more literally, "out of the faith of Jesus" is justified by the Justifier.
A companion verse might be Romans 4:16 when speaking of those "out of the faith of Abraham"
Rom 4:16 "Therefore it is out of faith that it may accord with grace, for the promise to be confirmed to the entire seed, not to those out of the law only, but to those also out of the faith of Abraham, who is father of us all,"Then a most wonderful verse corresponding with Romans 3:26 would be this:
Gal 2:16 having perceived that
a man is not
being justified by works of law, except alone
through the faith of Christ Jesus, we also believe in Christ Jesus that
we may be justified out of the faith of Christ and not by works of law, seeing that by works of law shall no flesh at all be justified."
It seems by the above that the faith of Christ came first, then our faith which was given to us by God.
