kinda expected something more colorful

Yeah, I wish I could have added more color. But I get in trouble here when I give my posts more 'flavor'.  :(

Quote from: Apollos

Quote from: Tony
Luke 15:24 "For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry."

The son died and went to the pig farm.

Please tell me you're joking Tony, please.

Tony's reply:
No, I'm not joking

Quote from: Tony
The rich man died and went to Hades where there was a river of water flowing though it and flames.

And the river is mentioned...where exactly...?

Tony's reply:
I got the river the same place you got your theology: out of thin air.  8)
But really, you are right. There is no river that I can see. But there is a deep chasm and the rich man did ask Abraham to have Lazarus dip the tip of his finger in water to cool his tongue. Heck, why just the tip of his finger? Why not bring two handfulls of water?

Quote from: Tony
The poor guy died and went to Abraham's bosom (wherever the heck that is).

"Abraham's bosom" is a Jewish phrase for "paradise"; it's a place where the dead find rest and peace.

Tony's reply:
Please tell me you're joking Apollos, please.

Quote from: Tony
The rich man went to his place of torment only because he got good things in this life (that's what Abraham said, unless you want to call him a liar) and the poor beggar went to heaven, not because of Christ but only because he got evil things in this life (according to Abraham.)

That is not whay Abraham said, in either case. And I am not calling Abraham a liar. You just cannot even understand simple things the Bible the states, how much less the complex things.

Tony's reply:
But that is what Abraham said.

Quote from: Tony
So who needs Christ? Just be poor as snot. Now, do you really want to take the rich man and Lazarus as literal?

You know, at first I thought you were just playing games and being sarcastic in your exegesis of the text. But these last three sentences lead me to believe that you really don't know what you are talking about. But how can that be? You are so adamant about so many things, things that require much greater understanding that this simple story.

Please, tell me you were kidding throughout this whole post. Although, if you were serious, it would go a long way in explaining why your theology is so full of error. Quit playing games and give me something to work with.

Tony's reply:
Apollos, no, I was not kidding through the post.

Jason and all, thanks for letting me know you don't like my words. That shows me I am on the right path. Remember, the majority of the religious did not like what John the Baptist or Jesus said nor the prophets of old nor what the disciples including Paul said. So I am in great company. If you can't believe me, at least believe the Bible. God said He will save all mankind. You make God a liar by saying He won't.
If you don't like the words of my Father, don't read them.

Did God say that He "will have all mankind to be saved" or that He "will NOT have all mankind to be saved? (1Tim.2:4-6]
Did God say He IS the Saviour of all mankind, or that He "is NOT the Saviour of all mankind? (1Tim.4:10)

Well?
Are we told to "charge and teach these things" or are we told "NOT to charge and teach these things"? (1Tim.4:10,11).

Well? Are we?

"Vern"?  Yeah I know what you mean.  But kinda expected something more colorful - but that will do. :D

Anti quoted someone once a time ago...

People are so predictable!!  And you probably predicted that i would respond in that manner! :D

Are people really predictable?
Me becoming class president was thought to be predictable but for some reason it wasn't. I quoted someone again.

Actually if the elections had been right about homecoming I would of won.  There is divide about the president since she is homecoming royalty 2 years in a row.  Alot of my classmates don't think it was right for that to happen.
